Neve Parslow completes junior national championship double

Brisbane’s Neve Parslow (ARA Skip Capital) has won the junior women road race at the Westbridge Funds Road National Championships, adding to her time trial title this week.

Parslow finished the 81-kilometre race around Perth CBD in 2 hours 24 minutes, distancing her breakaway companion Chloe Bowen (ARA Skip Capital) on the finishing straight in Kings Park.

Billie Russell (Brunswick) finished third, 15 seconds behind.

The three medallists broke clear from the field early into the race and eventually finished nearly nine minutes ahead of the peloton.

“It means so much,” Parslow said.  “I’ve been dreaming of this for ages, I’ve put in a lot of training and hard work for this and it is great to get a really good result.

“The road race means so much. I can’t wait to wear the green-and-gold bands in Europe. It will be such an amazing experience.”
