2027 Westbridge Funds Road National Championships dates locked in

The streets of Perth will come alive once again with the buzz of cyclists and the roar of crowds as the 2027 Westbridge Funds Road National Championships return to Western Australia from January 6−10.

The nation’s best cyclists and Para cyclists will head west for a third consecutive year to battle for the green-and-gold national championship jerseys in time trial, criterium and road race.

Westbridge Funds Management will also return in 2027 as the naming rights sponsor of the nation’s most prestigious cycling event.

Supported by the WA Government through Tourism WA, the National Championships will kick off on January 6 at the Perth High Performance Centre for two days of time trial action where riders will race to see who can set the fastest time against the clock.

The electricity of the criterium will again light up Northbridge in Perth’s CBD on Friday January 8, before a blockbuster weekend of road races and the Gran Fondo through the iconic Kings Park.

Perth's CBD is the stunning backdrop for the Westbridge Funds Road National Championships.

AusCycling CEO Marne Fechner said AusCycling was thrilled to be back in Perth and to have the Westbridge Funds Management partnership extended for a second year.

“Our partnership with Westbridge Funds Management is a key contributor to our success. As an industry-leading national organisation with strong West Australian roots, the partnership helps us to deliver this world-class event.

“Westbridge Funds RoadNats is a five-day festival of cycling, showcasing the very best riders in Australia set against the beautiful backdrop of Perth and the iconic Kings Park with an electric atmosphere.

“The Championships are also a powerful example of what can be achieved through collaboration. We are incredibly grateful for the support of the Western Australian Government (through Tourism WA and Dept for Sport), the City of Perth, the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, Main Roads Western Australia, VenuesWest and the City of Cambridge. From providing access to world-class venues and iconic locations, to facilitating critical road network operations and event infrastructure, each partner plays an important role in helping deliver an event that touches thousands of participants, spectators, volunteers and visitors.

“This collective commitment has helped establish RoadNats as one of Australia's premier sporting events, and we can’t wait to see what exciting racing the 2027 Championships will deliver as thousands of riders and fans come together in Perth to celebrate the great sport of cycling.”

The criterium will again light up Northbridge in Perth’s CBD.

Minister for Tourism, the Hon. Reece Whitby MLA, said the return of the Westbridge Funds Road National Championships to Western Australia for a third consecutive year is a fantastic outcome for the State.

“Hosting this prestigious event highlights Western Australia’s ability to deliver world-class sports fixtures while showcasing our exciting city and iconic locations to a national audience.

“Backing this event highlights the WA Government’s commitment to creating a diverse, year-round calendar of events that continue to drive visitation and diversify the State’s visitor economy.

“The championships will attract thousands of competitors and spectators to Western Australia, delivering a valuable boost to the tourism sector, and supporting local jobs and businesses.”

Pat Eddy was crowned the 2025 elite men's road National Champion.

Westbridge Funds Management Chairman Damian Collins said Westbridge Funds Management was proud to sponsor the event for a second year.

“This will be our second year aligned with the national road cycling championships, and we can’t wait to be a part of the excitement that surrounds the event.

“Now in its third year in WA, the level of talent on display is always incredible and our team is excited to, once again, celebrate the strategy, hard work and discipline the athletes showcase throughout the streets of Perth.

“The national reach of the event resonates with Westbridge’s footprint. With more than $1.06 billion of assets under management, spread predominantly around the east coast of Australia and a head office in Perth, it gives us a unique vantage point to invest in such a significant event that impacts far and wide.

“Seeing the firsthand impression that the championships bring to Perth, both through the community impact and significant injection into Perth’s economy, Westbridge are proud to put our name to such an iconic event.

“We know this year is going to be extra special as local champion Luke Durbridge announced he will retire following the event. Luke is a good friend of Westbridge, and we are looking forward to the additional buzz his final race will create – we’ll be right there with him cheering him on.”

“The Road National Championships have become a highlight of Perth’s events calendar, and we’re thrilled to once again host Australia’s premier cycling event in the heart of our City,” Mr Reynolds said.

“The Championships bring elite cycling to our streets, transforming Kings Park and Northbridge into vibrant event hubs, while attracting thousands of visitors and delivering significant benefits for local businesses. The event also showcases Perth’s natural beauty and outdoor lifestyle to a national audience.
