Bring the whole family along for the AusBike Free Family Ride, part of the 2025 AusCycling Road National Championships!
The ride is a chance for young riders and their families to experience the excitement of cycling on the same course as the pros in the heart of Perth.
Make new memories with your loved ones as you ride the 1.2km circuit in Northbridge on fully closed roads. Riders of all ages and abilities including kids, parents, grandparents and friends are all encouraged to join in the fun!
After your ride, stick around to cheer on Australia’s top cyclists as they compete for National Championship glory battling it out on the technical street circuit.

Is this a race?
No, this is just for fun. Ride 1 lap, 10 laps, or whatever you like.
Can I pull a kids trailer or have a kid in a baby seat?
Yes, but kids must also have a helmet.
Do I have to ride with my child?
Children under 8 must be accompanied.
Who can participate in the AusBike Free Family Ride?
The AusBike Free Family Ride is open to everyone! It’s designed to be inclusive, so whether you’re a seasoned cyclist, a beginner, or someone just looking to enjoy a leisurely ride with family and friends, this event is for you. Is the AusBike Free Family Ride really free to join?
Yes! The AusBike Free Family Ride is a free event. There is no registration fee, making it an affordable and accessible way for families to participate in a fun, community-based cycling activity.
Do I need to bring my own bike?
Yes, participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes. However, if you don’t have a bike, check with local bike shops in Perth to see if bike rentals are available during the event weekend. Helmets are required for safety, and you must bring your own helmet, or one will be provided at the event (if available).
What should I bring with me?
A bike in good working condition
A helmet (required for all participants)
Comfortable clothing suitable for cycling and weather conditions
Water and sunscreen to stay hydrated and protected from the sun

Can I ride with a child in a bike seat or trailer?
Yes, you can ride with young children in bike seats or trailers. The route is designed to be family-friendly, and we encourage families to ride together, regardless of age. Just make sure your child’s bike seat or trailer is securely attached and that they are safely wearing a helmet.

What if it rains on the day of the ride?
