MARS® secured as naming rights sponsor for 2013 Cycling Australia Road National Championships
Cycling Australia has confirmed the renewal of MARS® as the naming rights partner for the 2013 Cycling Australia Road National Championships.
It is the seventh consecutive year the Ballarat-based company has supported the Championships, which will be held in Ballarat and Buninyong from Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 January 2013 and comes following the unveiling of widespread changes to the schedule and courses for the 2013 edition.
“MARS® is very proud to once again be partnering the Cycling Australia Road National Championships, the biggest event in Ballarat, a city and region we call home,” said Michael Ryan, General Manager of Mars Chocolate Australia.
Similarly, Cycling Australia’s CEO Graham Fredericks is pleased to see MARS® extend its relationship with Cycling Australia and the iconic event.
“Cycling Australia is delighted to continue the positive working relationship with MARS® in 2013 and beyond,” Mr Fredericks said, “Adding to our new arrangement with Ballarat Regional Tourism, it is a positive outcome for cycling that we secured the continued involvement of MARS®.
“MARS® and Ballarat are iconic brands in cycling, and both have been long-term supporters of the Road Nationals with Ballarat having hosted the event for nine out of the past ten years and this being MARS’ seventh year as a major partner.
“The 2013 Championships are set to be a block buster event with many fresh and exciting changes and I personally can’t wait to see which cyclists prevail come January,” Mr Fredericks concluded.
Chairman of the Ballarat Regional Tourism Board, Stuart Benjamin also welcomed the announcement.
“Mars Chocolate Australia is a huge part of the Ballarat community and we are proud of their involvement with the Cycling Australia Road National Championships and thank them for their continued involvement in this great event.” said Mr Benjamin.
